Candidate filing period begins Jan. 15 for general elections in Keller, Roanoke, Northeast Fort Worth

The candidate filing period began Jan. 15 for the May 2 general election. Candidates have until Feb. 14 to file the proper paperwork with local election officials.

The cities of Keller, Roanoke and Northeast Fort Worth will see a number of local elections take place, including mayor and City Council Places 5 and 6 in Keller; and three council members in the city of Roanoke, representing Wards 1, 2 and 3.

In addition, the Keller ISD Board of Trustees will hold elections for Places 4 and 5, and Northwest ISD will hold elections for Board of Trustees Places 5, 6 and 7.

Keller

The May 2 general election in the city of Keller will ask voters to decide three at large positions on City Council along with Keller ISD Places 4 and 5.

Mayor Pat McGrail was first elected in June 2017, Place 5 Council Member Chris Whatley was elected in May 2017 and Place 6 Council Member Tag Green was elected in June 2017.

Keller ISD incumbents Chris Roof, Place 4, and Beverly Dixon, Place 5, were both both elected in May 2017 and have filed to seek re-election.

Roanoke

The city of Roanoke will hold elections for three City Council places May 2, including Holly Gray-Moore, Ward 1; Brian Darby, Ward 2; and Steve Heath, Ward 3.

Roanoke City Council is comprised of seven members, including the mayor and two council members from each of three wards in the city.

As of Jan. 15, both Darby and Heath have filed applications for re-election. More election information can be found at www.roanoketexas.com/142/Election-Information.

Northeast Fort Worth

City Council elections will not take place for Fort Worth until May 2021, but Northwest ISD residents will have the opportunity to decide three board seats: Places 5, 6 and 7.

Place 5 trustee Steve Sprowls was elected in 2017, Place 6 trustee Lillian Rauch, who also serves as board secretary, was elected in 2014 and Place 7 trustee Ron Hastings was elected in 2018.
