There were 14 new cases of coronavirus reported by Collin County health officials May 22, as well as the first Richardson death within the county.

The county has 313 active cases—20 less than the day before—and has reported 1,132 total cases of the virus since beginning testing in mid-March.

Of the total cases, 786 have successfully recovered, according to the May 22 report. Cases that have not yet recovered include 19 that are hospitalized and 294 that are in home isolation.

The county also reported a previously unreported death of an 82-year-old Richardson woman with underlying health conditions on May 3 as well as the death of a 98-year-old Plano woman with underlying health conditions May 22. Collin County has reported 33 total deaths involving people who had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Richardson has had 21 positive cases of coronavirus and has 4 active cases within Collin County. 16 residents have recovered and there has been one Richardson death within the county.

There have been 15,128 total negative COVID-19 tests in Collin County—183 more negative tests than the day before. There are 1,961 people in the county being monitored for the virus.

A dashboard with daily updates is available from the Collin County Health Services. Case reporting will soon be turned over to the Texas Department of State Health Services, which also publishes a dashboard on coronavirus cases.
